French Foreign Minister raises possibility of military action in Syria

The French Foreign Minister has said the International community may have to consider taking military action against Syria in an effort to end the crackdown by government forces.
Speaking after meeting with Syrian opposition leaders in Paris, Alain Juppe said repression is continuing in Syria, monitors cannot work on the ground and this cannot last indefinitely.
However he pointed out that any call for military action is not likely to be passed by the UN Security Council.
Arab League envoy Kofi Annan will present his next report on the peace process on May 5 and Juppe has said this is likely to be a "moment of truth".
