Flooding bill could top €500m
28/01/2010 - 08:15:16The clean-up bill for the recent flooding that hit the country last year could top €500m.
The EU is expected to cover €6m of the cost - even if it approves a Government request for aid.
Insurance companies are expected to pay out €244m in claims
Counties Cork, Carlow, Galway, Clare, Offaly and Limerick were divested by flooding waters last November after weeks of rainfall.
