Five killed in Baghdad attacks
A series of attacks in Baghdad has killed at least five people and wounded 13, officials said.
A bomb went off in a commercial area in the Iraqi capital’s southern Dora neighbourhood, killing two civilians and wounding five, police said.
Elsewhere, three mortar rounds landed in a street in the south-western Albu Eitha area, killing two and wounding five, while gunmen killed a civilian and wounded three others when they opened fire on a crowd in the south-eastern Bayaa neighbourhood.
A medical official confirmed the casualties.
Violence in Iraq has been on rise since April when the government launched a crackdown on a Sunni protest camp. More than 5,500 people have been killed since.
