Fifty countries on tsunami alert as 122 die in quake
27/02/2010 - 15:24:19Over fifty countries around the world are on tsunami alert, after an earthquake measuring 8.8 hit Chile.
One hundred and twenty-two people are now confirmed dead.
The quake struck the country's second largest city Concepcion.
The Chilean president has declared a "state of catastrophe".
The Department of Foreign Affairs here has said it has not learned of any Irish victims.
