EU advisor calls for annulment of air deal

An adviser to the European Union’s highest court today called for the annulment of the EU-US airline passenger data agreement aimed at countering the threat of terrorism, arguing the deal insufficiently protects privacy.

The court follows the advice of its advocate general in about 80 per cent of the cases. The full judgment is expected next year.
