A Macedonian government jet carrying Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski back from talks in Strasbourg has made an emergency landing in Zurich after suffering decompression in the air, officials said.
Government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev told the Associated Press that nobody on the Learjet was injured, and the cause of the problem is being investigated.
He said people on board reported hearing a loud noise before the decompression occurred. The pilot descended to a lower altitude and requested to land at the nearest airport, which was Zurich.
Mr Gruevski flew to Strasbourg on Tuesday for talks with left wing opposition leader Zoran Zaev, in an attempt to resolve one of the country’s deepest political crises since its independence in 1991.
The talks were monitored by several European Parliament and Commission members.
