A twin bombing attack targeting Kurds celebrating their new year has killed and wounded dozens of people in Syria, state media and activists said.
The two bombings targeted the north-eastern city of Hassakeh. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attack killed and wounded as many as 100 people.
The Observatory said one of the attacks was carried out by a suicide bomber who belonged to the Islamic State group.
Kurdish fighters have been fighting IS for months in battles that have left hundreds dead.
Hassakeh province is predominantly Kurdish but IS holds parts of the region that borders Turkey and Iraq.
