Seven years after the US banned waterboarding as an interrogation technique, Donald Trump admits he would revive its use if he were American president.

Waterboarding is a form of water torture in which water is poured over a cloth covering the face and breathing passages of an immobilized captive, causing the individual to experience the sensation of drowning.

But speaking at a Republican debate on ABC, the billionaire remained largely at odds with the other Presidential candidates ahead of Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.

“You know who has the tickets to the television audience, donors, special interest, the people who are putting up the money.

“The reason they are not loving me is because I don’t want their money I’m gonna do the right thing for the American public.”
