Flight recorders from an Air France jet found deep in the Atlantic nearly two years after it crashed are readable, experts said today.
The French air accident investigation agency BEA said that international investigators downloaded the material from the “black box” voice and data recorders over the weekend.
It said all data and recordings from both black boxes was retrievable.
Investigators will now analyse the material, which will take several weeks.
All 228 people aboard Air France Flight 447 were killed when it crashed in the Atlantic on June 1, 2009, en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
