Two carriages of a high-speed train derailed and plunged off a bridge in China today, a news report said.

The official Xinhua News Agency said the bullet train’s carriages derailed in Wenzhou city in Zhejiang province at about 8.30pm (12.30pm Irish Time).

It said rescue workers were rushing to the scene but details on casualties were not yet known.
