British woman killed in Pakistan suicide blast
23/02/2010 - 10:41:50A British woman was among eight people killed by a suspected suicide bomber in Pakistan, it was revealed today.
Dozens of others were injured when a blast ripped through a bustling market in Mingora, the main city in the mountainous Swat Valley, yesterday.
The British Foreign Office confirmed that a Briton was one of the victims.
A spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a British national was killed in the attack in Swat Valley on February 22.
“Next of kin have been informed and we are providing consular assistance.”
Channel 4 News reported that the British woman was married to a local man and lived in the area.
