A 13-year-old boy shot dead his six-year-old brother, wounded his 16-year-old sibling, then fatally turned the gun on himself after an argument over food, police in Florida have said.
The shooting happened shortly after 6pm local time in Hudson, a community in the state’s Pasco County, about an hour from Tampa.
Pasco County sheriff Chris Nocco said the teenager used a handgun during the shooting in the family’s mobile home.
The wounded 16-year-old brother, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, raised the alarm.
Mr Nocco said the shooting occurred while the boy's mother was at work and an 18-year-old brother was not at home, a mobile park north of Tampa.
“This is a horrific scene,” he said. “This is a nightmare.”
