Boy, 17, dies in Australian shark attack

A 17-year-old boy has died in a suspected shark attack on the coast of Western Australia.

He is thought to have been spearfishing with a friend on a beach near Albany when it happened.

Police say the teenager has not yet been formally identified, but they have made contact with his family.

His friend was not seriously hurt.

The news comes after a man in his 50s survived an attack by a young great white shark in California yesterday.
