Body found in freezer after three held in forged passports raid by Thai police

Thai police are seeking to identify a dismembered body found in a freezer after they raided an apartment and arrested two Americans and a Briton suspected of trafficking in forged passports.

Police spokeswoman Krisana Pattanacharoen said on Monday that the name, gender and nationality of the corpse found during Friday's raid in the capital, Bangkok, were unknown and that forensic experts would carry out a digital post-mortem examination and extract DNA material in an effort to make an identification.

Ms Krisana said the suspects were arrested on charges of resisting arrest, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, forging official documents and concealing a corpse.

She said police are uncertain of their actual identities because they may have been using fake or altered passports.
