Woman made to buy cinema ticket for baby13/04/2012 - 18:34:24
A British mother is furious after being made to pay for a cinema ticket for her 10-week-old baby.
Lynsey Calvert was "outraged" when she was told to pay £3 (€3.64) for her baby Samuel to watch 'Mirror Mirror' at the Movie Starr cinema in Canvey, Essex, despite him being too small to sit in his own chair.
She is quoted by the Echo newspaper as saying: "I was absolutely outraged. Samuel is too young to even keep his head up to watch the film and sat in a sling the whole time.
"I just feel like they have taken advantage because I could hardly turn round and say no, and disappoint my two other children.”
But Movie Starr owner Shane Parkin apologised and explained: “Legally everyone has to be issued a ticket due to fire regulations. If a fire were to happen they would need to know how many people are in the premises.
“So regardless of age, regardless of money, everyone has to be issued a ticket."
