'Resurrected' hamster digs his way out of grave
A family have renamed their hamster "Jesus" after he dug himself out of a 2ft deep grave.
The four-year-old pet was buried by owner Dave Eyley in a plastic tub after he was found "cold and lifeless" in his cage and thought to be dead – but he was walking around the garden the next day.
Dave's neighbour Sandy Humphreys called him to inform him, and the shocked owner was totally "flabbergasted".
He replied: "It’s impossible — our hamster is dead. He had rigor mortis when I buried him — and now he’s running about.
"He’s a plucky little soul and seems unaffected by being dead and buried."
