Man dials 999 after mistaking moon for UFO
A man rang the emergency services after mistaking the moon for a UFO.
The UK-based man called 999 and said he had just seen "an enormous light blazing" hovering over his house, but he later realised it was actually the moon.
He called 999 a second time and said: "I made a mistake. I thought I saw something really strange, but I didn't. You won't believe this, you won't believe it. It's the moon."
Hertfordshire police uploaded the audio of both conversations onto video-sharing website YouTube through its official channel and explained they had done so to "serve as a timely reminder before Halloween that making a bogus call can stop important 999 calls from getting through".
