How you like them papples?

A new fruit hybrid known as a “papple” is set to be launched in the UK.
The foodstuff - which is yet to have an unofficial name but is currently being referred to as T109 - is said to taste like an apple and have the texture and skin of a pear.
Shazad Rehman, fruit expert at Marks & Spencer, is "excited" about the forthcoming fruit, which will be available to buy at Marks & Spencer stores next week.
She explained: "This is one of the most exciting new varieties of fruit we have seen for several years.
"We know our customers like to try new and interesting fruit, and we hope this will be something they will really enjoy.
"It's got a lovely refreshing taste, perfect for snacking on, and [is] a fun alternative to an apple a day."
Marks & Spencer is planning to start growing the fruit, which has been grown in New Zealand, in the UK from 2015 onwards.
