Hook, line and limb

An angler managed to catch a fish that had stolen a prosthetic hand.

Keen fisherman and US war veteran Jack Wiseman was taking part in the Tarpon Tournament Series at Boca Raton Grande Pass, Florida when disaster struck. As he was trying to reel in a big fish, he noticed his steel prosthetic limb was slipping out of its socket.

He explained: “And all of a sudden the hand snapped off the prosthetic device, still hooked to the rod, and the rod and the reel and the hand went down into the water."

For a while Jack was worried, thinking his hand was gone forever, but luckily later in the day another fisherman hooked the same fish, and upon reeling it in found the hook, line and prosthetic hand still attached.
