At least 357 people have been killed following a strong earthquake in south west China.

More than 12,000 homes collapsed when the quake - measuring 6.3 - struck in the middle of the afternoon.

China’s official Xinhua News Agency and state broadcaster CCTV said the quake was the strongest to hit Yunnan in 14 years.
