A bus has collided with an oil tanker in southern India, killing at least 20 people.

A bus has collided with an oil tanker in southern India, killing at least 20 people.

The bus driver ran head on into the tanker while trying to pass another vehicle on a highway in Coimbatore, 1,150 miles south of New Delhi.

Both vehicles caught fire after the oil tanker exploded, according to police.

Police have recovered 20 bodies so far.

Sixty people were on board the bus, and the death toll is expected to rise.
