American town waits on decision in teenager's shooting case

The town of Ferguson, Missouri, is braced for a result in the case of Michael Brown.

Barricades surround the building where a grand jury has been considering whether to indict the police officer that shot and killed the unarmed black teenager in August.

The victim's father handed out Thanksgiving turkeys in the neighbourhood over the weekend, but tension has been mounting in recent days.

Police are expecting unrest to spill over onto the streets when the verdict is announced.

Ferguson witnessed riots last summer with curfews imposed and riot squads deployed to quell the violence that erupted in the days after the killing.
