At least 12 people have been killed in a series of bombings around Baghdad today, Iraqi officials said.
Police said the deadliest attack happened in the northern Shula district of the capital, where a parked car bomb exploded in an outdoor market, killing five shoppers and wounding 12.
Another car bomb in a commercial area in the central Karrada neighbourhood killed four civilians and injured 14.
And three civilians were killed and eight wounded by a bomb in another market in the eastern Maamil area.
Medical officials confirmed the casualty figures.
Iraq remains gripped by violence after al Qaida-linked militants took control of two cities in Anbar province, west of Baghdad.
