Dyson and Kjeldsen lead in Spain
06/05/2012 - 14:36:30England’s Simon Dyson and Dane Soren Kjeldsen were tied for the lead after six holes of the Spanish Open final round in Seville today.
Dyson was ahead by only one after a closing double bogey yesterday and made a flying start, sinking an 18-foot putt on the first and then landing a bunker shot for another birdie at the next.
But he was twice in deep rough at the long fifth and ran up a bogey six to fall back alongside Kjeldsen, who had birdied the first and fifth at the scene of his 2009 Andalucian Open win and where he holds the course record with 62.
They were two in front of Italian Francesco Molinari and Spaniards Pablo Larrazabal and Jorge Campillo.
Dyson and Kjeldsen both three-putted the short seventh and with Dyson then having his third bogey in four holes on the next, missing the green and failing to hole from eight feet, it was all change at the top.
Molinari was the one to take advantage. He two-putted the long ninth to complete a superb front nine 32 and by holing a 10-footer at the 10th for his fifth birdie he led Kjeldsen by one and Dyson by two.
