Man hospitalised after Dublin shooting
16/05/2012 - 08:35:41Gardaí are to carry out a technical examination at the scene of a shooting in Dublin last night.
A man is being treated at Tallaght hospital after he drove himself to a prison for help after he was injured in the attack.
The shooting happened on Sarsfield Road, Ballyfermot, at about 11.10pm yesterday.
The victim, a 32-year-old, was hit in the side of his body as he sat in a car outside Finnegan’s pub.
He drove himself to nearby Cloverhill Prison, where he called for help.
His injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.
The gunman fled in a silver saloon car that was later found burnt out at Golden Bridge Terrace, Inchicore.
The car has been seized for a technical and forensic examination.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the Sarsfield Road area of Ballyfermot or in the Golden Bridge Terrace area to contact them on 01 666 7200.
