Wallace seeks to offer 'personal explanation' in Dáil
09/06/2012 - 14:50:28Independent TD Mick Wallace is to make a personal explanation in the Dáil on Tuesday following his admission that he knowingly underpaid VAT and owes Revenue €2.1m.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the Wexford deputy said he has written to the Ceann Comhairle asking permission to "clarify his position for the sake of his constituents and citizens generally".
He said he will also explain how he proposes to continue to serve his constituents in Dáil Éireann.
The former property developer, who is currently in Poland for Euro 2012, is under growing pressure to resign his Dáil seat since last week's revelations of his tax evasion.
