Young Munster win out in ill-tempered derby

Young Munster 32 Dolphin 24, Tom Clifford Park

Young Munster were 32-24 winners over Dolphin in an ill-tempered Munster derby at Tom Clifford Park this afternoon.

Two players, one from each side, were red carded after a fifth minute brawl and another from Dolphin was yellow carded in the same incident which, when order was restored, saw Willie Staunton kick Young Munster in front with a penalty.

By half-time Dolphin led 17-10 but Young Munster finished best to grab a bonus point win. Two other Dolphin players were also sent to the sin-bin in a robust affair.

Young Munster had tries by Mark Doyle, Ger Bourke, Declan Bannon and Ger Flaherty with Staunton converting three of the four.

Harry Fleming, Eric Moloney and Eoin O'Shaughnessy scored the Dolphin tries with captain Barry Keeshan converting three and landing a single penalty.
