Monica and Sabrina Flores wore different jerseys while playing at the Women’s Sub-20 World Cup but family ties remained strong after the final whistle.
The 20-year-old twins were born in the US, with a Mexican father and an American mother.
Both are gifted footballers and when it came to declaring for international duty Monica chose Mexico while Sabrina joined the US team.

That put them in opposition at the recent tournament and this video of Sabrina comforting Monica after the Americans won has since gone viral.
Interviewed before the game, Monica said they and their parents didn’t allow football to create any rifts in the family.
“Our parents generally don’t suffer,” she said. “Quite the contrary, they get excited and equally support the two of us. What they want is for us to have a good game.”
