Tyrone defender O'Neill receives 12-week ban

The GAA's Higher Education Council have handed Tyrone footballer Sean O'Neill a 12-week suspension for his alleged involvement in incidents at a Sigerson Cup match involving his college St. Mary's University College.
The Belfast outfit lost 0-6 to 0-5 to NUI Galway at Dangan in a tight first round encounter which sparked ugly scenes at the final whistle.
Paddy Tally's St Mary's side had a late chance to snatch an equaliser when goalkeeper Niall Morgan came forward to take a '45'.
Morgan's effort fell short with referee Sean Carroll subsequently blowing the full-time whistle. The St Mary's players then appealed to the Westmeath official that he had signalled for full-time too early.
Fellow Tyrone native, Gavin Teague of Arboe, was also handed a 12-week ban.
O'Neill is now set to miss the rest of Tyrone's Allianz Football League campaign, having played a part in the Red Hands' opening round Division 2 win over Kildare at Croke Park last Saturday.
