Trio out for Chelsea

19/11/2004 - 16:17:37
Chelsea will be without Joe Cole, Alexei Smertin and Robert Huth for tomorrow’s clash with Bolton at Stamford Bridge.

Cole has been given compassionate leave by boss Jose Mourinho as the player’s grandmother is ill.

Huth has an ankle injury sustained during international duty with Germany and Smertin will be rested because of the travelling involved in playing for Russia this week.

Mourinho also revealed skipper John Terry is carrying a neck injury that almost forced him to pull out of the England squad.

Terry was taken off after an hour of England’s defeat by Spain because the injury, sustained against Fulham, got worse.

Terry is likely to play tomorrow but will definitely miss the club’s Champions League home game against Paris St. Germain on Wednesday.

Team (from): Cech, Cudicini, Johnson, Babayaro, Makelele, Carvalho, Lampard, Kezman, Duff, Gallas, Geremi, Robben, Bridge, Parker, Ferreira, Gudjohnsen, Terry, Tiago.
