This American footballer is making waves at Gaelic football training in Mayo

By Stephen Barry

He’s only been playing for a matter of days, but NFL wide receiver Roberto Wallace is looking like he could help return Sam Maguire to Mayo!

The former Miami Dolphin played 14 times in the NFL, but his participation in the Toughest Trade documentary has brought him to train with Breaffy GAA Club.

It’s a far cry from the Miami sunshine and big money contracts, but Wallace is adapting well as the teaser shows him fiercely rattling the crossbar twice.

He looks like an incredibly tough prospect for any club full-back line to handle…

However Wallace is filling in for fellow man-mountain Aidan O’Shea, who has travelled Stateside for American football training, so we reckon it’s a pretty fair trade!
