Teenage jockey suffers suspected broken femur

Jockey Jack Kennedy has been sent to hospital for precautionary X-rays for a suspected fracture to his right femur after he suffered a bad fall at Downpatrick.

The 17 year old from Dingle came to grief during the Scottish Borders Handicap Chase, in which he was riding Shane Billy.

Downpatrick course doctor Victoria McCandless confirmed the jockey has also been taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, in Belfast, to rule out the possibility of any spinal damage.
