Solano only facing one-match ban
10/09/2005 - 10:39:22Nolberto Solano will miss only one game through suspension rather than the two Newcastle had expected.
The Peruvian, who returned to St James’ Park on transfer deadline day from Aston Villa, was set to miss the Magpies’ clash with Blackburn as well as today’s meeting with Fulham.
But he will be free to play against Rovers next Sunday, because by then former club Villa will have played the two games he had left to serve on the ban and he began the suspension with them.
Villa face West Ham on Monday and then take on Tottenham next Saturday.
Solano would have missed the game against Fulham with a thigh injury, irrespective of any ban.
