WATCH: Wayne Rooney hits back with hilarious goal celebration

Wayne Rooney gave the best possible response to critics against Tottenham today.

The in-form Manchester United striker was revealed to have apparently been knocked out by Phil Bardsley during a friendly sparring session in the Stoke City defender’s kitchen.

The Sun newspaper article said that Rooney risked his career with the incident, but Bardsley’s wife Tanya later stated that he was just pretending, and jumped up and laughed with her husband soon after.

So Rooney delivered his own knock-out punch to critics during today’s Premier League match at Old Trafford.

After scoring United’s third goal, Rooney ran towards the corner flag and punched the air like a boxer before falling to the turf, arms outstretched.

Love him or loathe him, you’ve got to admit that’s pretty funny.
