Colombian star James Rodriguez saved a pitch-invading Real Madrid fan from the grips of security at his unveiling yesterday.
Rodriguez was the break-out star of the World Cup with his volley against Uruguay voted the goal of the tournament.
His displays in Brazil were enough to earn him a dream move to Real Madrid, in the process commanding the fourth highest transfer fee ever.
It's good to see all the attention hasn’t stopped him being a thoroughly nice young man.
The 23-year-old was presented yesterday evening to a huge crowd of Real fans at the Bernabeu and one fan (there’s always one) made a run onto the pitch to get a hug from his hero.
He was quickly shoved to the ground by security and was being dragged from the field. Rodriguez could be seen telling the guards to go easy and stepped in to rescued the young supporter.
The player walked the fan, who was wearing a Colombia jersey, off the field with an arm around him and even gave him a football to keep.
What a gent!
