Twitter reaction: Petr Cech was just a little bit awesome tonight

How good was Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech against Liverpool?

Yes, in the first half of the Premier League goalless draw, he kept Arsenal in the game more or less single-handedly – and it wasn’t a vastly different story after the break.

Two first-half saves in particular – from Christian Benteke and Philippe Coutinho – went a long way to making up for his poor performance against West Ham a couple of weeks ago.

If you wanna know how good he was, it was basically like this.

He was so good, he was even winning applause from his chums in the goalkeepers’ union.

He looked unbeatable. How could Liverpool get past him?

Yeah, that might do it.

First he got down low to keep out Benteke from point-blank range.

Then he dived to turn a curling shot from Coutinho on to the post.

How good were those saves?

And here’s what the Liverpool fans made of it.

Naturally, everyone was thinking of other things Cech could save.

Oh. That got a bit sad.

But not to worry – here are some Arsenal fans who think Cech is the signing of the summer.

Speaking of signings…

If he can do that then he won’t just be the signing of the summer, he’ll be the top two signings of the summer. Because while Arsenal fans were showering love on their new keeper, they still don’t have many positive things to say about Olivier Giroud.

So with a goalkeeper everyone loves and a striker everyone hates, it’s not altogether surprising the match ended 0-0.
