Schoolboy, 7, applies to manage Inverness - once the players help with his homework

A seven-year-old boy has applied to become the next manager of Scottish Premiership side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Schoolboy Ewen wrote to club chairman Kenny Cameron promising to develop the players' skills as he has "attended several hot shots courses" and plays with his school team.

The handwritten letter was posted on the club's website as they look for a manager to replace John Hughes.

Ewen said he could "speak to my headmaster and see if he would be up for letting me leave school early for important matches and training".

He wrote: "I'm sure it won't be a problem, as long as the players will be able to chip in and help me with my homework.

"In order to complete my dream team I'd like Richie Foran as my assistant manager and Greg Tansey as team captain."

The seven-year-old signed off: "I look forward to hearing back from you.

"Kind regards, Ewen (age 7)."

The club has asked Twitter followers to decide if the youngster should make the short-list, with more than 300 people approving his application so far.

Many followers feel the young lad deserves a chance, although some worried about the players’ ability to meet his conditions.
