Rodgers: No 'crisis meeting' at training ground

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed reports of a 'crisis meeting' at the club's training ground on Sunday after the 4-1 defeat at Arsenal 24 hours earlier.

It was reported that Rodgers called the meeting at the club's Melwood training base and accused several stars of not giving their best for him.

Rodgers, addressing the media ahead of Wednesday night's FA Cup quarter-final replay against Blackburn, insisted those reports were wide of the mark.

"We have lots of meetings here analysing performance and this one was no different," he said.

The defeat left Liverpool seven points behind the top four and with their Champions League hopes all but extinguished.

But Rodgers insisted the Reds would not give up, adding: "The attitude is to go right to the end. It is not a mindset, it is purely mathematical."
