Barcelona ace Lionel Messi has been given the all-clear to return to action ahead of tonight’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich.
The Argentina playmaker has sat out Barca’s last three Primera Division matches as the Catalan giants decided not to take any unnecessary risks with the hamstring problem he sustained in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Paris St Germain.
Messi, who featured as a substitute in the second leg against PSG a fortnight ago, trained normally on Sunday morning and was subsequently named in Tito Vilanova’s 21-man travelling squad to Germany but he had still not received the green light from Barca’s medical team to resume playing.
However, the forward, who has scored eight goals in the competition so far this season, has now been given the go-ahead and will be available for tonight’s clash at the Allianz Arena.
