Markovic misses goal but gets clean strike on steward

Lazar Markovic failed to score during his Liverpool debut last night but did connect with a human target.

The Serbian winger took a shot in the first half that went high and wide of the Olympiacos goal, however it landed perfectly on the head of this poor steward.

The man was positioned with his back to the action so had no warning at all of the impact.

Liverpool went on to win the match 1-nil courtesy of a Raheem Sterling goal. The game, in Soldier’s Field in Chicago, was their first match in the International Champions Cup, a pre-season tournament that will also see them take on Manchester City and Milan.
