Old boys Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan have both been handed starts as they returned to Newcastle with West Ham.

They have been included in a team which featured only one change to the side which lined up against Manchester City last weekend as James Tomkins replaced James Collins at the heart of the back four

By contrast, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew makes nine changes to the XI which started in Bruges in midweek with survivors Tim Krul and Mike Williamson being joined by Danny Simpson, Davide Santon, Steven Taylor, Yohan Cabaye, Jonas Gutierrez, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shane Ferguson, Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse.
