Cheapest season ticket for Hammers

West Ham will introduce the cheapest adult season ticket in the Premier League when they move to the Olympic Stadium for the 2016-17 season.

While there will be a small rise in prices for next season, the Hammers’ last at Upton Park, they will fall significantly with the move to the club’s new 54,000-capacity home – which coincides with the start of the Premier League’s lucrative new television deal.

Changes will include a new Band 5 season ticket costing £289, the equivalent of £15.20 per game, and an under-16 season ticket priced at £99.

Adult season tickets in Bands 1 and 2 will drop slightly for 2016-17, to #899 and #799 respectively, while Bands 3 and 4 will drop around a quarter to #599 and #499.

Disabled season tickets will also be cut, with places in Band 4 down around 45 per cent to £250.

Vice-Chairman Karren Brady told whufc.com: “We have always said that the move to our magnificent new stadium would be a game changer for West Ham: a chance to increase revenue, invest in the team and improve our performance on the pitch, but crucially without putting an extra financial burden on the supporters who already come to watch every home match.

“Today’s announcement proves that we have kept our promise.”

The announcement was welcomed by Malcolm Clarke, chairman of the Football Supporters’ Federation.

Clarke said: “The FSF strongly believes that top-flight clubs should use their newly-signed media deal to cut ticket prices for both home and away supporters.

“We hope that other clubs follow suit and reduce ticket prices across the board, as West Ham United have done.

“West Ham United have thrown down the gauntlet to other clubs – who can offer the cheapest season ticket prices in the top-flight?”
