Bournemouth charged by FA for breaching anti-doping regulations

Bournemouth have been charged by the Football Association for a breach of its anti-doping regulations.

The Cherries are accused of not keeping the governing body informed on the location of their players in order to facilitate drug-testing.

Fellow Premier League side Manchester City were charged with a similar offence last month and were handed a £35,000 fine on Thursday having not contested the claim.

A statement released on both the Bournemouth and FA websites on Friday afternoon read: "AFC Bournemouth have been charged in relation to The FA's rules on anti-doping.

"It is alleged the club failed to ensure that their 'Club Whereabouts' information was accurate, contrary to Regulation 14(d).

"AFC Bournemouth have until Thursday 23rd February 2017 to respond to the charge."

The sort of information required by the FA includes providing the times of training sessions and home addresses of players or other addresses where the team may stay overnight.

Eddie Howe's side are currently 14th in the table but are without a Premier League win in 2017.
