Barcelona could be heading for the Premier League.

The club's president says they could leave La Liga if Catalonia gains independence from Spain.

There is no training today as the club have joined the strike in protest at the way police dealt with the independence referendum.

The Catalonia Sports Minister has suggested that Barcelona could play in France, Italy or the Premier League.

Barcelona spokesperson Josep Vives thinks it would be an easy transition.

He said: "We are one of the greatest clubs in the world, no one could refuse us as partners."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Barcelona must join to queue to play in the Premier League.

"If Barcelona want to join the Premier League it makes the title even more difficult for everybody else!

"We have enough clubs here and we have to welcome the Scottish clubs before we go to the Spanish ones."

Earlier this week Barcelona's Spanish league game against Las Palmas was played without fans at the Camp Nou Stadium amid the controversial referendum on Catalonia's independence.
