Baines starts for Toffees

Everton defender Leighton Baines proved his fitness to feature in their Barclays Premier League clash against Capital One Cup semi-finalists Swansea at Goodison Park.

Steven Pienaar returned in place of Bryan Oviedo in the only change made by David Moyes following last weekend’s FA Cup win at Cheltenham.

Swansea made four changes after their dramatic midweek cup win at Chelsea with Michel Vorm, Nathan Dyer, Dwight Tiendalli and Kemy Agustien all coming in.

The Spanish quartet of Michu, Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez and Angel Rangel were hoping to catch the eye of watching national team boss Vincente del Bosque.
