Arsenal stars enjoy 'Great Gatsby' fancy dress bash

Well, that's one way to take your mind off being beaten 6-0 by Chelsea.

Arsenal stars enjoy 'Great Gatsby' fancy dress bash

Arsenal stars including Mesut Özil, Nicklas Bendtner and Bacary Sagna took their minds off the Gunners' horrific 6-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday - with a 'Great Gatsby' themed fancy dress party later that night.

The players along with spouses and friends gathered to celebrate the 24th birthday of Özil's German singer girlfriend Mandy Capristo, who posted pictures of the party to her Instagram account

Özil - looking quite dapper, it has to be said - is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, but even so caught some flack from Gunners fans after sharing the above pic on his own Facebook page

"Nice to see someone is having fun after we lost 6 nil," wrote one commenter.

"I would recommend whoever you pay to manage your social media takes a break for a while!"

Others however sprang to the defence of the third-generation Turkish-German, saying he was entitled to a private life off the pitch.

"Anyone saying 6-0 on here is a dick!" said one guy on 'Team Mesut'

"He wasn't even playing in that game! Get a life!"

Anyway, it seems like Mandy had a nice night, and that's the main thing.
