WATCH: Jonah Lomu appears out of a vending machine in Dublin

Visitors to Dublin’s Harry Byrnes pub recently encountered an unexpected guest in the form of all-time Rugby World Cup record try-scorer, Jonah Lomu.

The All Black legend was there to help launch Heineken’s ‘It’s Your Call’ Rugby World Cup 2015 campaign campaign.

Guests in the pub were invited to drop coins in the vending machine and were delighted to be told they had won balls signed by Lomu.

Delight turned to confusion when the vending machine delivered rugby balls not only addressed to them personally, but with additional remarks such as, “like the beard” and “love the top”.

Eventually the crowd worked out that Lomu had to be in the building somewhere.

But they only found out he was actually in the machine itself when Ireland’s Shane Horgan strolled in, ‘to change shifts’ with him.

Imagine how the guy who chose John Smit as the greatest rugby player ever felt when he saw Lomu.

“This video was a lot of fun to shoot!” Lomus said afterwards. “The Irish are known for their sense of humour across the world, so I was delighted to put that to the test.

“Seeing peoples’ faces as they tried to figure out what was going on was a real highlight.”

Why does nothing that cool ever happen in our local.
