Ireland fly half Jonny Sexton has admitted that not being out on the pitch last weekend in Wembley was heartbreaking, and he hopes the experience this weekend at the Olympic Stadium will be equally exhilarating.

“Hopefully more of the same, they’ve been amazing,” Sexton answered.
“I was sat in the Wembley Stadium last week absolutely gutted not to be out on the pitch with the amount of support that we had.”
As the man responsible for team selection, Joe Schmidt, laughed alongside him, Sexton described what a special occasion the match against Romania was.
“Full stadium, it’s not often you can fill out a match like that, with 90,000 people,” he said. “So yeah, the guys in the stand were gutted.
“They (the fans) are making every game so special for us and hopefully we can keep repaying them.”
The player feels that Ireland will have to produce a better performance than they have so far in the tournament to beat Italy, who will provide a much sterner test than either Romania or Canada.
“What we’ve produced in the last two weeks probably won’t be good enough against Italy,” Sexton said.
“We’ll probably have to go back to the warm-up games and take bits of those, because they’re the last times we played against Six Nations teams.”
