All of which inspired the fifth and sixth classes in Kilberry National School in Athy to do their own version.

Carefully coached by Mr. O'Sullivan, the 22 schoolchildren from Kildare performed a haka with a difference - ‘titled ‘An Haca Gaelach ar son Jonah Lomu’.

Instead of a Maori war dance, the pupils performed a modified version with the actions called out in Irish.

Particular kudos to the young boy leading the dance for some impressive rhythmic shouting to keep his classmates in symmetry.
