The nominations for World Try of the Year 2014 have been released today.

Jamie Roberts, Cornal Hendricks, Magali Harvey, Francois Hougaard and Jonny May have all been nominated each scoring a magnificent try.

Jamie Roberts scored one of the season’s great team tries with Wales going try line to try line against Scotland with Roberts eventually touching down.

South Africa boast two players on the shortlist with Cornal Hendricks score against Wales that went the length and width of the pitch making it, as well as Francois Hougaard’s try against New Zealand which saw burst onto the ball and go past two New Zealanders before finishing under the posts.

Canada’s Magali Harvey is the only woman to make the shortlist with her try coming during the Women’s Rugby World Cup. Magali had taken the ball inside her own 22 line and beat the chasing French opponents to touch down in the corner.

Jonny May of England rounds off the nominations with his superb line break against New Zealand which resulted in a score in the corner.
